Compare the approaches

Keep your existing PBX
or replace it with CRM calling?

Many CRM calling systems bring telephony into the CRM. Tabd takes a different approach: connect your existing SIP accounts and PBX to a browser phone, so your team can modernize calling without replacing the telephone system behind it.

Designed for compatible SIP and PBX setups · No new phone numbers required

The core difference

Add a browser layer to the phone system you already trust.

Keep your provider, numbers, SIP extensions, and PBX routing in place. Tabd sits on top as the browser interface for your users and team.

Your existing PBX

Retain the routing, extensions, queues, and call rules your business already operates.

Tabd browser calling

Add calling, call history, recordings, enabled transcriptions, and team visibility in Chrome.

Your browser workflows

Use the phone alongside CRM, helpdesk, recruiting, and other web applications.

Side-by-side

Two valid routes to browser calling.

Native CRM calling prioritizes an experience inside one CRM. Tabd prioritizes preserving an existing SIP and PBX environment while making it available in Chrome.

Which should you choose?

Start with the system you already have.

The practical decision is whether you want to adopt a new telephony stack or improve access to the one you already operate.

A clean start

Choose native CRM calling when…

Your CRM can sensibly become the center of both customer data and telephony.

  • You do not already have a telephone system you need to preserve.
  • You want one vendor for both CRM and telephony.
  • You are comfortable moving numbers, providers, or call workflows.
  • Advanced SIP configuration and PBX routing are not important.
Preserve your stack

Choose Tabd when…

Your phone system already works and the browser experience is what needs to improve.

  • You already have SIP accounts, numbers, or a PBX.
  • You want to preserve your provider and existing call routing.
  • Your team needs browser calling beyond a single CRM.
  • You are a VoIP provider or reseller adding a browser experience.
A lower-disruption path

Test the browser experience before changing telephony.

Validate fit with a compatible SIP account and a small group of users first.

01 · CONNECT

Use an existing SIP extension

Start with a compatible account from the phone environment you already manage.

02 · VALIDATE

Test real call workflows

Check inbound and outbound calling, audio behavior, history, and your team’s browser workflow.

03 · ROLL OUT

Add users without a migration

Assign compatible SIP extensions while retaining the provider, numbers, and PBX logic underneath.

Questions to ask

Know what stays—and what changes.

Does Tabd replace our PBX?

No. Tabd adds a browser calling interface to a compatible existing SIP and PBX setup. Your PBX remains responsible for the telephony rules and routing you already use.

Do we need new phone numbers?

No. Tabd is designed to work with the SIP extensions and phone numbers already connected to your existing telephone system.

Will every CRM log Tabd calls automatically?

No. CRM logging depends on a supported integration and its configuration. Without one, calls and related activity remain available in Tabd rather than being automatically written to the CRM.

Is native CRM calling a bad choice?

Not at all. It can be the simplest option for a company starting without an existing phone system. The key question is whether you want a new telephony stack or a browser layer for the one you already operate.

Keep the system. Improve the interface.

Test Tabd with your existing SIP account.

See whether browser calling fits your team before considering a broader provider, number, or PBX migration.
